Above is the 1887 Old Judge (N172) of Billy Hamilton pictured with the Kansas City Cowboys! He was a prominent figure in early professional baseball history, best known for his time with the Philadelphia Phillies. One of his most remarkable feats was his single-season record of 115 stolen bases in 1891, a mark that remained untouched for over eight decades until Lou Brock surpassed it in 1974. Recognizing his exceptional contributions to baseball, the Veterans Committee made the historic decision to induct Billy Hamilton into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1961, ensuring that his legacy would forever be enshrined in the annals of the sport.
Next up is Jake Beckley featured in one of the most iconic vintage baseball card sets of all-time T206 (1909-1911) as a member of the Kansas City Blues. Beckley originally from Hannibal, Missouri went on to have a stellar career as a solid hitting first baseman which eventually got him inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Fun local fact after his playing days, he went on to coach for William Jewell College!
